We want articles that stand out and capture the reader’s attention. To be considered, your article should:
Be Engaging: Use storytelling, interviews, and compelling arguments to keep readers hooked.
Be Clear and Accessible: Avoid technical jargon and make sure your article is easy to follow for a broad audience.
Be Accurate and Well-Researched: Back up your claims with facts, research, and interviews. Provide links to reliable sources and verify your information.

We are especially interested in articles that dig deep into stories, explore under-reported angles, and provide original commentary on the African music scene.
Do You Have a Word Limit?
Our typical articles range from 800 to 1,500 words. However, if you have an exceptionally well-written, engaging, and original piece, we are open to longer submissions.
Should I Pitch an Idea or Submit a Draft?
We are open to both! If you have a strong idea but need guidance, pitching your concept first might be the best option. If you already have a fully written draft that aligns with our editorial style, feel free to submit it directly.
How Should I Contact You?
For all music-related topics, please reach out to [tunecamplive@gmail.com], detailing:
Who you are: Are you an artist, journalist, researcher, or music enthusiast? Let us know your background.
Why your article is interesting and relevant: What’s the focus? Who will be interested in it? Why should it be published now?
Your approach: What’s new or different about your perspective? How will your article provide value to our readers?
Why you're the right person to write it: Share why you’re best placed to tackle this topic.
When Will I Hear Back?
We strive to respond to pitches and submissions within 5-7 working days. If you haven’t heard back from us after that time, feel free to follow up. Due to the volume of submissions, we may not be able to respond to every pitch, but we do our best to keep you informed.
How Long Does the Process Take?
The time from submission to publication varies depending on the topic. On average, it takes 1-2 weeks to publish an article. However, timely pieces might be fast-tracked for publication, while in-depth essays might require additional time for editing and review.
Do You Only Publish Exclusives?
We primarily publish original, exclusive content created for our platform. While we occasionally collaborate with other outlets, we prefer fresh, exclusive submissions that bring new perspectives to our audience.
Can Other Outlets Republish My Published Article?
Our articles are published under a Creative Commons license, which means that other outlets can republish your work, as long as they:
Provide proper attribution to the author and our platform (e.g., “This article was originally published on [Your Blog Name] [link to original]”).
